Items from D.C.'s marine debris collection are part of an environmental awareness exhibit in the library at Muskegon Community College. The college is doing a range of events that are open to the public.

LAKESHORE EARTH DAY GREEN PARADE & FAIR
Saturday, April 17th 12:00pm Green Parade 1:00pm - 4pm Fair
1st come out and see a fossil-fuel-free parade. Bikes, wagons, rollerblades, horses and sneakers will be the feature. You're even invited to join us. The parade begins on Franklin St in downtown Grand Haven and ends in Central Park, where the Fair begins! The Fair includes many booths, kids games, music and food vendors. DISNEY'S OCEANS & ECO PARTY CINEMA CAROUSEL
Thursday, April 22nd Open 'til Close
D.C. & Cinema Carousel are celebrating Earth Day with the release of the movie Oceans from Disney. Come out on opening day to watch the film, then "sea" & touch cool biofacts from some of the creatures you saw in the movie, like dolphins & manatees. Free games for kids will be happening at select times. |

Great Lakes Memorial & Museum
May 1st - June 15th Open 'til Close
D.C. has been invited again to educate students and visitors of the Museum through a hands-on display called, Trash Troubles. Ours is not the only booth on hand, though. Several other local groups will also have fun information about a range of water issues. So, bring the family & your office mates and take a tour! |
